The Len Thomson Charitable Trust makes grants to charities which are focused on Midlothian. Charities which have connections with Dalkeith and Newtongrange are of particular interest to the Trustees. Causes supported typically include:

  • Work with children and young people
  • The advancement of education
  • The advancement of health
  • The advancement of sport, particularly amongst young people
  • The relief of poverty or other hardship

Groups undertaking activities for the benefit of the community, charities / voluntary bodies. Particularly groups which have connections with Dalkeith and Newtongrange.

When to apply

Applications should reach them by email or hard copy not later than 10 November in any one year. Successful applicants will normally be advised of any award by early February March.
