West Lothian Educational Trust

  • The Trust has limited funds which are used to give grants to persons and bodies resident in, or originating from, West Lothian. The grants are mainly given for educational purposes and preference will be given to applicants who are unable to obtain grants from the Scottish Education Department or other sources. Normally one-off grants are given, although further support may be available if a training course lasts for more than one year.Grants are given for the following purposes: post-graduate scholarships; supplementary bursaries for students attending universities etc; assistance in obtaining practical experience of trades etc; grants for student apprentices; travel scholarships to study outwith Scotland; travel grants for an educational purpose; educational excursions for pupils attending school or college; special equipment for schools/colleges; sports facilities; support of clubs with activities of an educational nature; adult education; promoting education in the visual arts/drama/music; educational experiments and research.
