Inspiring Scotland - Outdoor Community Play Incubator Programme

    Details

The Outdoor Community Play Incubator Programme will support small community groups in rural and remote areas to develop and deliver local outdoor play opportunities. The Incubator Programme aims to include aspects of strengthening the sector/infrastructure for play through small investment and development support.

This programme recognises that many communities face barriers to providing outdoor play, despite having access to natural environments. The incubator programme aims to help grassroots community groups build confidence, access training, and test new ideas that support children and families to connect with nature and play in their local area.

They will fund activity that supports children and families to access outdoor community play sessions in their community and resources which can include:

    • Staffing of play sessions
    • Equipment, including outdoor clothing, outdoor shelters, etc.
    • Materials and resources that help facilitate free, child-led play
    • Food/snack during sessions
