Argyll & Bute Third Sector Interface

  • Argyll Voluntary Action (AVA) objects are: to promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of inhabitants of Argyll and Bute and, in particular, the advancement of education, the furtherance of health and the relief of poverty, sickness and distress by the promotion and delivery of voluntary sector support, advice and representation and by developing voluntary service and volunteering within the area.In furtherance of these objects, the company shall seek to:A) Identify and disseminate examples of good practive in volunteering.B) Promote and develop volunteering within the local (Argyll and Bute) Authority Area.C) To promote and to organise co-operation for all in the achievement of the above purposes and to bring together in association, representatives of voluntary organisations with statutory organisations within the area.D) To provide advice, support and training to voluntary and community organisations in Argyll and Bute.E) To promote good governance and standards to voluntary organisations within the area.F) To collect and disseminate information on volunteering.G) To contribute to the development and delivery of advice, support and training for volunteers and volunteer engagers.H) To develop and deliver training to support voluntary organisations in Argyll and Bute.I) To recruit and refer volunteers to agencies and where appropriate match them to tasks and roles.
