The trust makes grants of approximately £140,000 per year to charitable organisations and ad-hoc groups contributing to the education and advancement of children with a physical / mental disability, or socially disadvantaged children or young people (under age 21). Assistance is also given to individual children / young people under age 21 who have a physical or mental disability or who are socially disadvantaged and who apply for help with private tutoring, books, tools or expenses for further training and education, special equipment, travel, Open University and other activities contributiong to education and advancement in life. The Trust also makes grants towards the cost of boarding education for children resident in Scotland who are orphans or of single-parent families or who are subject to some other special family difficulties and whose circumstances are such that the Trustees think that it would be in their best interest to have such an education.
