Argyll and Bute, on the west coast , is one of the largest, most diverse and most sparsely populated local authority areas in Scotland. Two thirds of the population live in settlements of less than 10,000 and a third in settlements of less than 1,000. Argyll and Bute also has 26 inhabited islands. The Council delivers a wide range of services designed to reflect the very varied needs of the population. Argyll and Bute council's key priority is to promote prosperity and is working in partnership with other key agencies to create the conditions under which the economy can flourish.

Argyll & Bute Council - Supporting Communities Fund
The fund supports community groups in Argyll & Bute. Priorities include: social inclusion; rural isolation; quality of life for residents; visitors to the area; health and wellbeing; environment; skills development; employment.
Argyll & Bute Council - Strategic Events and Festivals Fund
Open to organisers who are intending to hold strategic events and festivals in Argyll and Bute. Events and festivals must contribute significantly to the culture, heritage and economy of Argyll and Bute whilst reaching a national/international audience.
