OneCity Trust

  • The mission of the OneCity Trust is to promote social inclusion in the City of Edinburgh. The OneCity Trust aims to fulfil its mission by both carrying out and funding projects and initiatives that advance, facilitate and promote education, social welfare, human rights and the tackling of extreme inequalities in income and the alleviation of poverty among people in Edinburgh. The Trust places great emphasis on bringing together different groups to work together in innovative and creative ways to tackle the problems of social exclusion.Grants from OneCity are made to organisations or projects specifically working at grassroots level to promote inclusion. The emphasis is on supporting initiatives that encourage participation and demonstrate potential for future self-sustainability. Grants are managed by Scottish Community Foundation staff.In 2005 a One City book was launched, aimed at raising both funds and awareness for the Trust and containing short stories contributed by 4 world-renowned Edinburgh authors.
