Scotland's Finest Woods runs the annual Scotland's Finest Woods Awards which celebrate the contribution that woodlands can make to the people of Scotland and to its environment. The underlying principle of the Awards is that people from across Scotland work hard to support their local communities and the environment; the Awards provide a way to recognise and reward their achievements. The underlying principle of the Awards is that people from across Scotland work hard to support their local communities and the environment with the Awards providing a way to recognise and reward their achievements and so identify exemplars for others to follow.A partnership to run an annual awards programme was first established in 1985 and a not-for-profit company to run the awards was established in 2005 with a revised programme featuring awards for community woodlands, multi-purpose forestry, silvicultural excellence and school/ learning projects being introduced in 2006. The company is a registered charity.
