Summary
The Blacklaw Windfarm Community Benefit Fund is open to communities living closest to the windfarm development through a community and environmental grants scheme.
Aims for the fund are:
- provide or improve a park or other public amenity for leisure or recreational purposes
- conserve biodiversity at a specific site
- maintain, repair or restore a place of worship or building of historical or architectural significance
Additional aims for the small programme are to:
- improve energy efficiency
- reduce fuel poverty
Additional aims for the main grants programme are to:
- remediate contaminated land or water
- reduce or mitigate the effects of pollution

Any not for profit organisation or community group (except North Lanarkshire Council or Council controlled bodies) within the Shotts, Allanton, Bonkle and Hartwood areas of North Lanarkshire and their immediate surrounds – the precise eligible grant area is highlighted on a map on the website.
