Grants are available towards urgent and essential maintenance and repair projects. They will also support project development and investigative work up to RIBA planning stage 1, to support churches preparing for a major project, and in developing their project to the point at which they can approach a major grant funder.

Who can apply

Christian places of worship of any denomination can apply, including churches, chapels, meeting houses and cathedrals. The building must be listed or unlisted and originally constructed as a place of worship more than 30 years ago. Local Churches Trusts can also apply for a Medium Grant for specific organisational development purposes. The building must be located in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.

When to apply

The fund is currently open for applications. There is a deadline-based (rounds) process; the next deadline is 15 December. Applicants are advised to read the relevant guidance before applying and to submit all required documentation before the deadline.
