Funded by The Scottish Government, The Nature Restoration Fund encourages applicants with projects that restore wildlife and habitats on land and sea and address the twin crises of biodiversity loss and climate change.

The Fund will support a mix of urban and rural-focused projects, such as improving greenspace for outdoor learning, green active travel routes, planting of wildlife corridors and natural flood management.

When to apply

Submit an Expression of Interest We are currently only accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the Transforming Nature Development stream. EOIs are a mandatory requirement for applicants and we aim to respond to your EOI within 20 working days. You can submit an EOI for the 28 November 2024 application deadline anytime prior to noon on Friday 4 October 2024. We encourage you to submit your EOI significantly in advance so you have time to consider our feedback before progressing to an application, if you are invited to apply. We will not accept any new Expressions of Interest after noon on Friday 4 October 2024. You should read the guidance below before submitting your Expression of Interest form to NRF@nature.scot.
