The Seed and Development Fund is open to any Fife community group and designed for projects with momentum that want to grow, develop capacity and increase impact.

Funding can support:

• Expanding successful community climate projects.
• Developing or delivering community climate action plans.
• Feasibility studies, surveys or consultancy support.
• Increasing volunteer capacity, skills or training.
• Purchasing larger items of equipment or infrastructure.
• Improving community facilities to reduce environmental impact.
• Match funding for larger climate projects.

Applicants should demonstrate that their project has clear outcomes, builds on existing activity and will deliver greater impact for their community.

The Fund is looking for projects that:

• Support communities to take meaningful climate action.
• Deliver positive environmental, social and/or economic outcomes.
• Involve local people and encourage community participation.
• Build the capacity of community organisations to continue delivering climate action beyond the life of the grant.
• Contribute towards a fairer, greener and more resilient Fife.

Projects focusing on climate adaptation, nature recovery, biodiversity enhancement, carbon reduction or community resilience are particularly encouraged.

Activities aimed at engaging people who are not already involved in climate action are welcomed.

Who can apply

Local community groups or organisations that are constituted, non-profit distributing and community-led group or organisation based in, and working in, Fife.

Groups have to be members of Fife Communities Climate Action Network (FCCAN) or must apply to join FCCAN prior to submitting an application for funding.
