Aberdeenshire Youth Music Initiative
Details
Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative puts music at the heart of children and young people’s lives and learning, supporting all musical genres, age groups and teaching methods. Funding will be given to small groups in Aberdeenshire who can show that their project covers the following criteria:
- Young people plan it for young people.
- It is fun!
- It is supported by Aberdeenshire Council staff (e.g. CLD Worker, Teacher, Social Worker etc). This is needed to make it possible to get the funding to you.
- The project employs professional musicians who are paid at the current Musicians Union rate.
- The project shows how young people develop their music and music-making skills.
- The project should show how it considers at least one of the following: Sustainability or Tackling Poverty.
You can apply for funding to employ a professional musician/sound artist to come to your group and teach you something or support you in your project, or there might be some music equipment you would like to buy.
