Forth Valley Climate Action Hub - First & Next Steps Climate Action Grants

Details

The grant aims to empower communities to:

  • Increase climate-aware consumption and production
  • Increase nature-based solutions to climate change
  • Increase climate change awareness

Applicants are asked to show how their proposed actions meet one or more of the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), as set out below and, additionally, how they meet one or more of Forth Valley Climate Action Hub’s objectives:

  • Making the community more aware of climate change and its local impacts
  • Building partnerships between community groups and organisations around climate issues
  • Developing solutions that help communities adapt to climate change or reduce emissions
  • Empowering communities to advocate for themselves on climate themes
  • Building a sustainable and fair future, with a focus on climate justice

First Steps applicants will consider themselves new to any significant coordinated approach to community-led climate action. They will not have previously received funding specific to climate outcomes. Next Steps applicants will have already have a track record of coordinating climate action. They may have received funding from FEL Scotland or other funders with climate specific objectives.

FEL Scotland member organisations only.

When to apply

Now open until 30 January 2026. The fund may close sooner and without notice depending on how quickly it is fully allocated.

Groups requesting £5,000 or more must submit an expression of interest (EOI) by 12 September 2025.

Next deadline: 30 Jan 2026

Apply online via the FEL website. An Expression of Interest is required for requests of £5,000 and more, in advance of an application.
