The Electricals Recycling Fund aims to support industry bodies, start-ups, non-profits, companies and research institutions exploring new, innovative or significantly improved initiatives that apply and develop circular economy principles, reducing environmental impact and enhancing resource efficiency.

Should your funding application be successful, Material Focus may provide opportunities for you to network with other successful applicants and industry. Depending on the type of project funded, this may take the form of workshops and / or networking groups.

Project examples include, but are not limited to: Materials:

  • Advanced recycling technologies
  • Bio-based or sustainable alternatives
  • Modular design for recycling
  • Closed-loop supply chains Products:
  • Repairable & modular electricals
  • Self-healing materials
  • Right to repair initiatives
  • Upgrade-friendly designs Business models:
  • Trade-in & refurbishment programmes
  • B2B sharing platforms
  • Deposit return schemes

They expect the majority of projects to be delivered across a 12-month period, although, where necessary, this may differ.
