Corra Foundation - Independent Human Rights Fund for Scotland

Details

The Independent Human Rights Fund for Scotland is for organisations taking action to realise and defend rights, and tackling immediate rights issues affecting people’s daily lives. The Fund will prioritise support for organisations working to hold power to account and for activities where an independent source of funding is particularly important

Eligible applications will propose work explicitly focussed on the protection or promotion of human rights. This can include, but is not limited to:

  • Work alongside communities or individuals.
  • Legal case work and advisory/individual advocacy services.
  • Third sector networking and capacity building, including support to individual human rights defenders.
  • Awareness raising, advocacy and campaigning.
  • Research and policy activity, including work on contributing to human rights reporting and shadow reporting.
  • Relevant media work with a clearly defined human rights focus

Who can apply

To be eligible to apply, organisations must:

  • Be a registered third sector organisation.
  • Be able to evidence human rights focus in their founding documents or most recent audited accounts.
  • Be able to evidence a track record of human rights-focussed work over the last three years.
  • Have an income between £25,000 and £250,000 per year to apply independently; and, if their income is lower or higher than this, be applying in partnership with other organisations.
