Dumfries and Galloway Climate Hub - Seed Fund

Details

The D&G Climate Hub is facilitating a seed fund to help community groups in Dumfries & Galloway deliver climate action in their local area through grass-roots projects and events. The Seed Fund could be used to initiate new ideas or support on-going projects.

They are looking for applications from community-led projects and groups who are leading on climate activity in their locale. Community climate action takes many different forms – from community woodlands to food growing and shared learning events. They will consider all ideas!

They are looking for applications from community-led projects and groups who are leading on climate activity in their locale. This funding is designed to support community climate action. Typically, community climate action includes food growing & sharing, biodiversity improvements, sustainable travel initiatives, repair cafes, energy saving ideas… but there are no limits to what they would consider to be community climate action.

This round, they are especially interested in projects with a focus on biodiversity improvements, or that are focussed on climate impact adaptation or mitigation.

We encourage applications to the Seed Fund for projects that meet at least one of these criteria:

  • Support biodiversity improvements
  • Raise awareness and build climate action capacity
  • Support a Just Transition towards a Net Zero Dumfries & Galloway
  • Support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
  • Support collaborative working with others
  • Support the sharing of learning and skills
  • Contribute to long term positive change
  • Encourage those not currently engaged in climate action to get involved
  • Build resilience to the effects of climate change

Projects should be completed by Friday 6th February 2026
