The Kennyhill Bequest Fund was established under the Will of Mrs Agnes Stewart or Thomson dated 17 May 1895.

The Trustees wish to fund projects which can demonstrate a significant benefit to their local communities. To achieve this, they have obtained approval from OSCR to encroach upon and spend out the capital of the fund. They are inviting applications for funding to support sustainable projects and would encourage applicants to be innovative and creative with their proposals.

Applications for funding are sought from Charities who are either based within the City of Glasgow or who wish to establish and/or support a project to be delivered within the City of Glasgow.

Applications must demonstrate that the project addresses one or more of the trust’s purposes, specifically to support those experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social exclusion and that the project will reach the most vulnerable groups of people across the City of Glasgow, providing them with support, opportunity and equality.

Examples of such projects are those addressing homelessness, abuse, mental health, poverty, debt management, learning disability, illiteracy, lack of employable skills, health, disease and illness, including but not limited to the exclusionary effects on minorities, people with disability, LGBTQI community, care experienced young people and substance users.

The project should deliver positive and sustainable change.

Applications should address the availability of ongoing and/or match funding from other sources or other means of demonstrating how any project will be sustainable and continue to benefit the beneficiary group beyond the period of grant funding.

Who can apply

Charities who are either based within the City of Glasgow or who wish to establish and/or support a project to be delivered within the City of Glasgow. The Charity must be operational for more than 1 year with a minimum of one set of annual accounts lodged with OSCR.
