Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar (Western Isles Council) - Community Led Local Development (CLLD) Grants

Details

Community Led Local Development (CLLD) is administered by a Local Action Group (LAG) with funding made available by the Scottish Government. This LAG – the Outer Hebrides Community Led Local Development Local Action Group (OH CLLD LAG) – covers the area of the Outer Hebrides.

In total, £90,000 of capital funding is available and applications are being sought for sums in the region of £5,000-£10,000. To be eligible, projects must contribute to the LAG’s overarching aim of ‘collaboration and Community Empowerment through inclusion, equality and diversity’, and at least one of their priorities for 2024-25, which are:

  • Community Wealth Building;
  • Supporting children and young people; and
  • Dùthchas and Dualchas*, with a focus on identifying new approaches that can lead to economic benefits.

Slightly lower – but still very important – objectives are:

  • Working towards Net Zero;
  • Transport; and
  • Fair work and Employability.

Who can apply

Any properly constituted, voluntary and locally based, community group or organisation can apply, as well as sole traders (not individuals) or businesses that can demonstrate a clear community benefit to their project. Applicants must be based in the Outer Hebrides and the proposed project and its beneficiaries located there.
