ScottishPower Foundation - Marine Biodiversity Fund
Details
As our planet grapples with ecological challenges, the protection of marine ecosystems is crucial in safeguarding the biodiversity of our seas and oceans and sustaining life on Earth. The ScottishPower Foundation’s Marine Biodiversity Fund will finance one multi-year project that contributes to the broader global agenda for environmental sustainability, leaving a positive legacy for future generations.
Proposed projects - which must take place in the UK and its territorial waters (within 12 nautical miles) - should:
- Contribute to the protection and enhancement of the marine/coastal environment, preventing negative impacts and/or enabling the repair and renewal or the marine/coastal environment, including the safeguarding of marine species
- Share project knowledge and raise awareness of threats to the marine/coastal environment by engaging with the local community and wider society.
