Glasgow Life - Wheels In Motion Development Fund

Details

The Wheels in Motion Development Fund supports projects increasing participation, particularly for under-represented groups, in cycling and wheeled urban sports.

Fund priorities:

  • Increase opportunities for Cycling and Wheeled Urban Sports, especially in areas of Multiple Deprivation.
  • Increase participation across all ages, with a priority being children and young people.
  • Encourage under-represented groups, particularly women and girls, to participate.
  • Expand opportunities for people with various abilities, including those with disabilities.

The fund will support a wide range of project costs to increase participation in cycling and wheeled urban sports. Although not exhaustive the fund will cover costs such as:

  • Equipment: Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, and other gear.
  • Storage: Secure facilities for equipment.
  • Safety equipment: Helmets, lights, and locks.
  • Training: Programmes for participants, coaches, and volunteers.
  • Personnel: Funding for staff and volunteers.
  • Project Running Costs: Essential operational expenses.

Not-for-profit organisations in Glasgow. Applicants should understand the need of communities and commit to delivering cycling and wheeled urban sports that are aligned with the fund’s priorities.

When to apply

Short initial application due by 3 February, then full application by 17 February.
