Details

Following a successful first round of the Youth Climate Action Fund programme, Glasgow City Council has been awarded an additional £70,000 from Bloomberg Philanthropies to support young people across the city to design and deliver their own environmental projects 🍃

During this round of the YCAF, grants up to £3,900 will be awarded to 17+ youth-led projects in Glasgow which have the potential to focus on a variety of climate-related topics.

Projects should be environmentally focused and support at least one of the YCAF themes, which are based on the themes of Glasgow's Climate Plan:

  • Speaking Up and Taking Action
  • Fair and Green for Everyone
  • Easy and Sustainable Travel
  • Healthy People, Healthy Planet
  • Building a Greener Future

Projects will be delivered between July and December 2025.

Who can apply

Projects must be led by at least 2 team members aged 15-24 and represented by a youth-led or youth-focused organisation. A youth-led organisation is made up of at least three individuals aged 15 to 24 in leadership positions who actively participate in decision making within the organisation. Youth-focused organisations, while generally led by adults, provide core programmes and resources designed to meet the needs of young people. This can include community groups, third-sector organisations, schools, colleges and universities.

Organisations must be based within the Glasgow City Council boundary and have a registered bank account.

Applicants can submit up to 3 funding applications for separate projects.
