Who can apply

Grassroots charities. The charity or community group should primarily support one of the three core pillars. Charitable or community-based projects should be located in the same county as one of the Focus Group offices [in Scotland: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness].

The charity or community group needs to have an annual income of less than £1m and have core running costs of less than 35% (this does not include professional costs).

When to apply

Now open. Grants will be reviewed at the next meeting on the 1st December 2025; they typically stop assessing new applications 4 weeks before. Please note that, due to overwhelming demand, they may temporarily close to applications.

The Charity Grant Committee meet four times a year to review grant applications, but dates may vary. Typically, they are mid-March, mid-June, mid-September and mid-November.

How to apply

The first step is to complete a short ‘Expression of Interest’ form via their website (response within one month). If your project aligns with the funding objectives, you’ll be invited to submit a ‘Full Grant Application' via their online portal.
