Catalyst - Kindling programme
Details
Catalyst has always existed as a network to support and catalyse a change in how digital technology is used and run. As they enter a period of degrowth ahead of the CIC’s closure in March 2026, they want to leave the community with kindling to nourish what has been, what is and what might be ready to start.
The Kindling Programme includes 2 components: grants and an in-person connection event.
- Grants: Kindling grants are small grants to help organisations and individuals explore or develop tech justice ideas or existing work. This programme is designed to be flexible and light touch. Your proposal could include:
- Exploring or researching new ways to meet a tech justice challenge
- Developing an idea you’ve already explored and are inspired by
- Creating or strengthening infrastructure to support the tech justice field
- Developing part of an existing piece of work or taking it in a new direction (this could include existing Catalyst assets or activities or non-Catalyst ones).
- An in-person retreat designed to build connections between grant recipients, and collectively explore future work. Their goal is to simultaneously strengthen the tech justice movement while kindling more fire and energy to its work. 4-5 February 2026, in Oxfordshire, England.
