the Alliance for Youth Organising - Explore Fund

Details

The Alliance for Youth Organising will provide five grants of £15,000 for projects exploring gaps in action or understanding for the youth organising field. These grants will use an action learning approach.

The learning can be shared creatively, for example as a report, a video, an audio recording, a visual representation, or a powerpoint. The Alliance will provide additional support for the learning to be shared more widely.

The Alliance intends that the five successful projects will be connected and learn from each other. Explore community convenings will take place at the beginning, middle and end of the grant period. These will be online, with additional funding provided to cover costs of any face-to-face meeting.

The Alliance will also facilitate connections within its networks and funded community in support of the projects and the sharing of learning.

The grants will be awarded in April 2026 and grant holders will be expected to share their learning in November 2026.

Who can apply

Organisations that:

  • Organise young people or support young people to organise.
  • Want to test new models of youth organising through experimentation and learning - this grant is not primarily intended for scaling existing models but testing ideas.
  • Are committed to collaboration and knowledge-sharing with other organisations, networks, or movements — seeing your learning as a contribution to the wider field.
  • Embrace failure as part of innovation and are willing to openly share what doesn't work alongside your successes.
  • Are curious about new partnerships or cross-movement connections that could strengthen youth organising in unexpected ways.
  • Will make time for reflection and documentation so that insights from your experiments can benefit others.
  • Want to contribute to a learning community where grantees support each other's experimentation and share emerging practices.

The Alliance welcomes collaborative applications. At least one group or organisation needs to be involved in youth organising and there needs to be a lead organisation or group who will receive the grant.
