This fund will invest in national projects that strengthen and expand dementia community supports across Scotland by developing a sustainable national infrastructure that will improve the lives of people with dementia and their care partners.

The fund will invest in national projects that will help to achieve the following outcomes:

• Local communities have increased capacity and resources to provide dementia support and address gaps and unmet needs
• A sustainable national infrastructure is established, enabling long-term growth and coordination of dementia community supports across Scotland.
• Collaboration between national organisations and local groups is strengthened, creating a more connected and resilient network of dementia community supports which deliver best practice.
• Systemic barriers and inequalities in accessing community supports are removed, increasing people’s access to culturally appropriate services.

Organisations must be working on a national basis and be able to demonstrate they are taking a strategic approach to developing the infrastructure of community support across Scotland. Projects must support both people with dementia and their care partners/unpaid carers.

Funding is for the delivery of projects from April 2026 to March 2027.

Who can apply

• Incorporated charities based in Scotland and working on a national basis
• Organisations must have demonstrable experience of delivering work in line with the national dementia strategy ‘Dementia in Scotland: Everyone’s Story’.
• Organisations must have a bank account registered in their name and require two signatories for withdrawals.
• Partnership applications are encouraged but not required. The lead partner must submit the application and meet all eligibility criteria.
