For 2026/27, DGCH is seeking to work intensively with four constituted communities who can demonstrate that they are committed to becoming ‘climate ready’. Climate Hub Officers will work in partnership with each community to identify a shared priority action plan aligned to an agreed MOU.

The officers will provide technical support, national and local networking opportunities, and where relevant signposting to other funding. DGCH will also provide funding of up to £15,000 to each of the four successful applicants, to be used for local community climate related action, activities, events and education.

They encourage applications to the Climate Ready Communities Fund for projects that:

• Activate local Climate Champions
• Draw in support and expertise from our network of regional facilitators
• Equip the community to continue its journey to long term climate resilience
• Will in the future act as an exemplar for other locally-led climate action projects
• Support a Just Transition towards a Net Zero Dumfries & Galloway
• Support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
