Armed Forces Families Fund - Service Pupil Support programme

Details

This programme will award grants for projects which address the needs of children aged 4-18 in full-time statutory education who are from currently serving armed forces families. This includes pupils whose parents are on full commitment as part of the full-time reserve service.

Your project must meet one of the following 4 themes:

  • Closing the gap: Closing the academic gap between service and non-service pupils using data led evidence.
  • Support for service pupils with SEN/D, ASN, ALN: Address the needs of service pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEND), Additional Support Needs (ASN) or Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
  • Mobility/deployment and separation: Address the impact of mobility/deployment and separation on service pupil’s education.
  • Low numbers of service pupils: Finding ways to reach and maintain support to service pupils who are in schools that have very low overall numbers of service pupils.

Who can apply

They are inviting applications from local authorities, and schools in the UK which have children of currently serving armed forces personnel on roll. Service refers to regular forces or reserves (full-time reserve service).

They can accept applications from:

  • maintained schools
  • academy schools
  • free school
  • sixth form colleges
  • further education colleges
  • local authorities
  • multi-academy trusts.
