Lanarkshire Climate Action Hub - Sustainable Community Food Grant
Details
The purpose of the Sustainable Community Food Grant is to enable community groups and organisations to explore:
- the impact that climate change is having on our food systems
- how our current food systems contribute to climate change
and to identify what can be done locally to tackle this and to help their communities to save money and improve their health and wellbeing.
The Sustainable Community Food Grant will enable your community to participate in an interactive workshop delivered by the Lanarkshire Climate Action Hub, which will explore how the food system contributes to climate change as well as how it is affected by climate change, before gathering your ideas of what can be done locally on areas of the food system including:
- What you eat
- Where your food comes from
- What can you do to save money
- How can you reduce food waste
From the ideas gathered at the workshop, you will prioritise what projects to pursue with the £2,000 funding from this grant. All expenditure and activity to be completed by 31 March 2027.

Who can apply
Community groups in Lanarkshire. Applications will only be accepted from non-profit-distributing groups and organisations with bank accounts. LCAH encourages applications from groups who support individuals that are more vulnerable to the impacts from climate change such as those on low incomes or with health inequalities.
