Every day, charities across the North East help people overcome challenges, build connections and create opportunities.

The Lady Helen Wood Fund has been created to support those organisations with flexible funding, a simple application process and a shared belief that communities are strongest when people are given the opportunity to thrive.

The priorities are:

• Children and young people under 18: projects that create opportunities, build confidence, develop skills and support young people to grow - whether through mentoring, leadership programmes, creative activities or community initiatives.
• Adults aged 65 and over: Supporting projects that reduce isolation, strengthen community connections and help older adults remain active, connected and valued.

Funding can support:

• Project delivery costs
• Equipment
• Core costs and organisational overheads (full cost recovery is actively encouraged)
• Capital investment

Who can apply

Registered charities and Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) registered with OSCR, supporting children and young people under 18, or adults aged 65 and over, across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. They're particularly keen to support organisations with an annual income of less than £1million, including those at the beginning of their journey.
