In 2027, Book Week Scotland will take place from 14–20 June, and Scottish Book Trust will be building a programme of events inspired by the theme of wonder.

If your organisation would like to programme a unique, exciting event for Book Week Scotland 2027, Scottish Book Trust wants to hear from you! Organisations can apply for one grant to plan and deliver an in-person or digital event.

Scottish Book Trust wants organisations to think of bold, unique events that get audiences excited about books and reading – especially people who feel less confident about reading, or have lost the habit. The theme for Book Week Scotland 2027 is Wonder. While partners are not required to engage with the theme as part of their events, SBT would love it if you did! They have developed five sub-strands for Wonder which may give you an idea of the types of events you’d like to programme.

Priorities:

• Bringing communities together to share and celebrate the transformative power of books and reading
• Supporting bold, innovative and fun events that promote the benefits of reading and writing
• Reaching a wide a range of people and communities, including the most vulnerable or isolated, throughout every local authority in Scotland
• Creating a legacy for communities to continue enjoying books and reading together in the future
