The Trust is a grant-making charity and although the objectives set out in its trust deed are far-reaching, the trustees wish to focus their help upon organisations and projects that address social issues particularly relating to education, health and well-being, and inclusion.
The Trustees tend to focus their support in Scotland, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire, with increasing emphasis outwith Scotland.

When to apply
Decisions are made in March and October each year based upon applications received by the end of the previous month. The next deadlines are:
- 28 February 2025
- 30 September 2025

How to apply
Apply in writing to the Trust via post or email. Applications should comprise a letter of no more than two pages which includes your aims and services, and information about why a grant is needed, together with summary information from your latest annual accounts, and bank account details. These requirements are specified on the Trust's website. No brochures should be included.
