Inverness City Heritage Trust - Building Repair Grants
Details
Inverness City Heritage Trust offers grant funding to support the repair, conservation and enhancement of traditional buildings within Inverness. Their funding helps property owners, community groups and custodians of historic buildings to carry out high-quality, conservation led repair work that enhances the city’s built environment and preserves it for future generations.
These grants support a broad range of activities relating to the conservation of traditional buildings, and may include:
- External fabric repairs, including roofs, chimneys, masonry, stonework, render, windows, doors, and rainwater goods.
- Shopfront restoration, including appropriate signage, reinstatement of historic details, and sympathetic design.
- Professional services, such as architectural drawings, structural surveys, historic building assessments and conservation plans.
- Community-led conservation projects, where wider heritage value or public benefit can be demonstrated.
- Traditional skills training, where eligible as part of an approved repair scheme.
The Trust’s grants are separate from any requirement property owners may have to comply with planning legislation as part of a project, which is dealt with separately by the local planning authority Aberdeen City Council. It is advisable to seek early advice from the Council on any project where the historic built environment is being altered.
