Trustees normally only give consideration to applications for assistance from local organisations in Dundee and Tayside. Trustees favour organisations which work in the social and welfare areas, assisting people struggling to cope with day-to-day living or suffering from disability.

They may also support national charities for their work in Dundee and Tayside and organisations in this area whose activities can be enjoyed by a significant proportion of the local population.

Who can apply

Any charitable institutions that the trustees may select. The Episcopal Church in Scotland. Royal National Lifeboat Institution. The Salvation Army. Any local charitable organisation or charitable purpose, or any local charitable appeal in Dundee or Tayside.

When to apply

The Trustees meet three times each year, generally in February, May, and September. The Trustees' main meeting is in February and it is at this meeting that any larger donations are normally considered; with smaller grants being considered at the other two meetings.

How to apply

Applications must be made in writing and should be addressed to the Trust's Agents, at the address listed.

Applications should contain information about the organisation, the project that funding is required for, funding shortfall, and a copy of the applicant's most recent accounts (if available). Applications should be from charities and their charity number should be stated.

Applications by telephone are not accepted nor is it possible to advise applicants as to the merits of possible applications or the progress of applications by telephone.
