The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations is the membership organisation for Scotland's charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises. Charity registered in Scotland SC003558. Registered office Mansfield Traquair Centre, 15 Mansfield Place, Edinburgh EH3 6BB.

Summary

The Trust has a specifically Christian focus and most grants are made to or through faith-based organisations. The Trustees' priority areas of giving are:

  • To advance Christian faith and values, with an emphasis on: making the Christian message relevant to all through innovative ‘fresh expressions’ of church
  • To support organisations offering practical support to those in the U.K. who are disadvantaged, vulnerable and / or socially isolated with a particular emphasis on Christian organisations seeking to express their faith through practical action to help vulnerable groups.
  • Relief of poverty overseas, predominantly through Christian organisations working in the low income countries of Sub-Saharan Africa.

How to apply

The Laing Family Trusts are run on a co-ordinated basis. This means that you do not need to make multiple applications to the individual Trusts; your application will automatically be directed to the most appropriate of the four Trusts.There is no pro-forma application form but they ask applicants to download and complete an application cover sheet, which is available on completion of an eligibility quiz via the Trust's website.
