The Banffshire Educational Trust, administered by Moray Council, offers grants to individuals, schools and organisations for the benefit of people in the former county of Banffshire. This area includes Buckie, Keith and the parts of Aberdeenshire that were in the former county. Support is available for further, higher and post-graduate education, apprenticeships and adult education courses, educational travel and school excursions, special equipment for schools and further education centres, sports facilities, clubs providing educational activities, promoting education in drama, music and visual arts, and educational experiments and research.

Who can apply

Residents, schools and organisations in the former county of Banffshire, which includes Buckie, Keith and the areas of Aberdeenshire that were in the former county. This includes:

  • Individuals resident in the former county undertaking further, higher, post-graduate or adult education, or apprenticeships
  • Parents or carers applying on behalf of school-age young people taking part in educational school excursions
  • Schools and further education centres
  • Youth organisations, clubs and other organisations operating for the benefit of people of the former county

When to apply

Grants are available every financial year. The closing date is 30 September each year.
