The Buccleuch Charitable Foundation provides relatively small donations to a wide range of organisations both locally and across the U.K. The target areas for their support has always been smaller groups and organisations based in and around the regions where the family estates are located (Scotland and Northamptonshire).

The Trust purposes are:

to relieve of poverty, hardship and distress which may have fallen on individuals and families through illness, death or old age
to support medical research work
to assist financially any religious organisation of whatever denomination
to support a wide range of charitable purposes.

In practice they support a wide range of organisations including supporting arts, sport, heritage, health, welfare and youth work.
