The Trust's objectives are the advancement of education, the advancement of religion and the advancement of health. It funds local charities working with young people in Tayside and North Fife. Grants are made to individuals principally carrying out activities abroad.

Previous grant recipients include Dundee Science Centre, Brechin City Band, Newbigging Scout Group and Tall Ships Youth Trust.
