Build It aims to help early-stage social enterprises working towards becoming financially sustainable. It offers grant funding for salary costs so that the new jobs help the enterprise increase its income, become financially sustainable and continue to deliver social impact without relying on grant funding.

Who can apply
Your enterprise must be up and running and able to provide evidence of income generation and social impact to date and been trading for 2 years or less. Profits from the enterprise must be reinvested in the business and its social aims; no assets or uncapped dividends can be transferred out of the organisation to private individuals or bodies.
Your enterprise must be an independent organisation – it is neither a project nor a subsidiary of an existing body. It must aim to provide direct social benefit to individuals, communities and/or the environment.

Applications open and the next deadline is 12pm Thursday 23rd January 2025.

How to apply
The application form and guidance can be found on the Firstport website.
You must submit an application form, a business plan, a pitch document and cash flow projections. If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to pitch to an independent panel that makes the final funding decision on the 18th and 19th March 2025.
