The Trust supports a range of activities supporting people who live in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders:
- the advancement of health and education
- the prevention or relief of poverty of any person in Galashiels
- the advancement of religion by making grants towards the maintenance of any Church of the Protestant faith in Galashiels or for the wellbeing of ministers or retired ministers of the Church of Scotland
- the relief of those in need who are resident in Galashiels
- the provision of recreational facilities in Galashiels
