Pets Foundation supports organisations who work to make a real difference to the welfare of UK pets, either by improving the care that rescues provide to these animals or by actively reducing the number of homeless pets. Their Rescue Centre Grants provide funding to organisations whose main activity is the rescue and rehoming of UK pets.

They can fund:

  • Running costs – such as vet bills, utility costs, boarding fees, food and bedding
  • Equipment – including trapping cages, washing machines, microchip scanners, incubators and more
  • Vehicles – such as animal ambulances or horse boxes
  • Building work – for example, animal accommodation or onsite veterinary facilities

Who can apply

  • UK registered charities that operate within the UK to help UK pets
  • Charities that have been operating for at least two years
  • Charities with a minimum of three unrelated trustees
  • Organisations whose main activity is rescuing and rehoming domestic pets in the UK or preventing pet relinquishment
  • Organisations can be national pet rescue charities and their branches, or independent pet rescue and rehoming organisations either centre, boarding or foster based
  • Any dog and/or cat rescue and rehoming charity with an income of over £1m must be a member of the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes

£50,000

When to apply

No set deadlines. Applications for less than £50,000 are reviewed monthly. Due to the volume of applications they receive, decisions can take up to 4–5 months.
