Big shoes to fill
Today marks the start of my fourth week with SCVO. Now that I know my way around the building and I’ve started to feel at home, I thought it a good time to introduce myself.
As part of the Information Team at SCVO, I’ll be keeping the information that you see on Funding Scotland up to date, as well as responding to enquiries. As a charity fundraiser myself, I was a frequent visitor to the Funding Scotland site so I am delighted to now be a part of SCVO, helping to support the voluntary sector.
Next month, I’m looking forward to getting an introduction to the organisation when I attend The Gathering for the first time. Taking place on the 19th and 20th February at the SEC in Glasgow, the event is the UK’s largest free voluntary sector event in the UK with over 65 free workshops, seminars and training sessions. Funding Scotland will be represented as we are hosting a Funders’ Question Time session on the 20th. Spaces are filling up fast so book now!
Finally, a massive thank you to my predecessor Sandra Hogg who retired at the end of last year. Sandra was key in developing the Funding Scotland service and will be sorely missed at SCVO. I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing her all the best in her retirement. I’ve got some big shoes to fill!
