New Arts Grant Making Trust Launches
Scops Arts Trust has launched a new website and an open call for applications. Following its charity registration in December 2019, the Trust has spent the past few months forming its grant-making strategy and application process and developing a website.
Scops Arts Trust was established last year thanks to an endowment from the late Tony Wingate. As a small trust which awards a limited number of grants each year, its aim is to contribute towards the positive impact which the arts, particularly the performing arts, can make on people’s lives.
The Trust’s current areas of interest include:
- Improve the provision and quality of music education in schools
- Engage children and young people in music outside of school
- Widen access to the arts for everyone, regardless of any disadvantage they face because of their health, financial or social circumstances
- Reach audiences in parts of the country where arts events are not usually found
Scops Arts Trust awards grants from £2,000 to £30,000. The deadline for Stage 1 applications is Friday 28 August at 12 noon.
