Funding for community climate action

Together for Our Planet, a new funding programme from The National Lottery Community Fund has opened to support communities across the UK to take action on climate change. The £2.5 million fund aims to build on COP26 to engage communities in the conference and inspire positive climate action.

The programme can fund grants of £1,000 – £10,000 to support local community projects covering areas such as food, transport, energy, waste and consumption, and the natural environment.

Priorities for the programme are:

  • people and communities hit hardest by climate change
  • people and communities who are starting to think about taking climate action
  • groups who have not received funding from us before
  • groups who do not have a current award with us
  • smaller organisations with an annual turnover of under £100,000.

Applications close at 5pm on 18 November 2021 and they expect to make around 400 – 500 awards through the programme.

Full details of the fund can be found on the National Lottery Community Fund website.
