Grant scheme available to support local sporting and cultural groups

Posted on 22 April 2022 by Christie McAlpine in Funding Grants Aberdeenshire Council

Live Life Aberdeenshire is the sports and culture service of Aberdeenshire Council. Last year the Positive Action Grant scheme supported 28 local sports and cultural groups. Grants are open to eligible organisations based in and providing services in the area.

Constituted groups based in or delivering in Aberdeenshire can apply for between £200 and £5,000.

This scheme offers a route to deliver innovative sporting and cultural projects and it is hoped it will encourage new community organisations to build their capacity. Priority areas are:

  • Supporting mental health and physical wellbeing
  • Supporting personal and family support outcomes
  • Tackling poverty and inequality
  • Building community resilience

Examples of the types of projects that may be considered include:

  • pilot initiatives to widen access to services for under-represented groups
  • pilot initiatives which have the potential to create new services or networks
  • innovative new events or performances which deliver health and wellbeing outcomes
  • projects which will enable volunteers to develop their skills, contributing to the development and sustainability of services

Application close on 31st May 2022.

Full guidance and the application form can be found on the Live Life Aberdeenshire website. For more information please contact llafunding@aberdeenshire.gov.uk
