Details
The purpose of the trust is to support the regeneration and development of the Outer Hebrides through disbursement of Community Benefit secured from the local deployment of Renewable Energy installations.
Applicants should meet at least one of the WIDT's objectives:
- advancement of citizenship and community development
- prevention or relief of poverty
- advancement of environmental protection or improvement
- advancement of education
- and advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science including the Gaelic language.

Who can apply
Applications are invited from properly constituted community groups only, whose application meets the WIDT's objectives.
When to apply
Now open. Apply by 4pm on Monday 19 October 2026. Any applications submitted after that time will go to the November meeting if funds have not been exhausted.
Once the fund has been expended it will close until September 2027.
