The Triangle Trust 1949 Fund - Young Women and Girls

Details

The Triangle Trust 1949 run two grant rounds each year.

Round 2 (September):

  • Organisations working with young women aged 17-30 already in contact with the criminal justice system who need holistic support to help them move away from offending behaviours, such as maintaining safe tenancies, securing and retaining jobs and building secure and healthy family relationships; pre-release and through the gate support for young women to meet their immediate needs and/or support for young mothers up to the age of 30 prior to and after serving a custodial sentence.
  • Organisations must be working with vulnerable young women and girls who are already in contact with the criminal justice system and who are highly vulnerable to entering it or who are known to be at risk.
  • Organisations must be led by and for women and girls or have specialist knowledge and expertise and be working primarily or exclusively in specific areas.

Alongside the open grant programme, they also make strategic grants. These are invitation only opportunities where the Trust identifies an organisation that it would like to work with to achieve their overall strategic goals.

Who can apply

  • UK registered (or exempt) charities and organisations with charitable aims
  • Organisations led by and for women and girls
  • Organisations that are issue experts in the areas supported by the Trust
  • Faith based organisations will need to demonstrate in their application that their services are accessible to those of no or differing faiths
  • Work that takes place within the prison walls as well as through the gate
  • Well run organisations that work collaboratively with others

Small grants programme: only open to orgs with an income of less than £50,000.

  • 10 September 2026 - online application process opens
  • 2pm on 15 October 2026 - deadline for submission of Expression of Interest forms
  • 29 October 2026 - last date to be invited to submit a full application
  • 12pm on 5 November 2026 - grant round closes

How to apply

The application process has three stages.

  1. Following the successful completion of the eligibility checker you can submit an Expression of Interest.
  2. You will be invited to submit an online application that will be reviewed by their staff team and Trustees.
  3. Applicants shortlisted at this stage will then be asked to host an assessment visit with their Director either online or in person. This is an opportunity to find out more about the work you do and the project you would like them to support.
