The purpose of the Fund is to support and encourage community-led, grassroots support for people with lived experience of dementia that helps them to live better in their community.
The fund has the following aims:
- Addressing gaps in mainstream support for people living with dementia and unpaid carers in their community
- Enabling people with lived experience to take part in ordinary activities and stay connected to their community
- Integrating approaches that will include and empower people living with dementia and unpaid carers
- Support intergenerational activity, such as working with young carers/family members, or including young people in the community
