ICNZ Outer Hebrides is inviting businesses, academic institutions, local community organisations and public sector bodies to come forward with capital project ideas which will support decarbonisation in the Outer Hebrides.

The ICNZ Outer Hebrides Transition Fund aims to support transformational projects, creating significant and lasting change with added benefit to people and communities throughout the Outer Hebrides, while helping achieve the following ICNZ objectives:

  1. Support the islands to become one of the first regions in the UK to reach net zero.
  2. Create new ‘green’ jobs within the islands.
  3. Generate new enterprise and revenue streams, stimulating growth across the supply chain.
  4. Ensure decarbonisation has an impact across all the activities in the Islands Deal.
  5. As a globally linked and recognised innovation centre, produce results of international significance that can be replicated beyond the Outer Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland.
