The Russell Trust is a Charitable Trust supporting a broad range of local charities.
The criteria for grant giving include, but are not limited to, the following categories:
- Education
- Health
- Welfare
- Youth Work
- General
- Environmental
- Conservation
- Community projects
- Archaeology
The Trustees prefer to “pump-prime” new projects and it is not the policy of the Trust to award grants on an annual basis, nor to give grants to support salaries or capital projects.

Who can apply
Applicants must have charitable status, or be a registered charity. The Trustees prefer to “pump-prime” new projects rather than give recurring awards.
When to apply
Applications can be submitted at any time. Applications for grants of £2,000 or below are decided on a rolling basis; applications above £2,000 are decided on a quarterly basis.
